Work From Home Fashion: How to Make Comfy, Chic

Work from Home

This morning I woke up and put on my newest favorite work from home outfit - leggings, a grey t-shirt, and a soft poncho. Starting to become one of my favorite quarantine outfits. I didn’t think that I would become so attached to some of these comfy clothes, but this is our new normal!

Do you have a go-to quarantine comfy, chic look?

It may seem like stay at home fashion isn’t something to prioritize, especially fashionably chic, but now more than ever comfy clothes can make your at home experience more comfortable and unique to you. With having fewer decisions to make during our day-to-day lives being able to create an outfit that represents YOU can give you a feeling of satisfaction! Having the chance to make a simple decision and control something in your surroundings can benefit your day for the better!

I want to highlight some of our super comfy stay at home looks that can upgrade your shabby look into something comfy, and consciously chic.

The first pieces I want to highlight are created by Sofia Ismaela Moranchel designer and creator of Lanaria in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The pieces are made from vegan silk and mohair –  currently these beauties below are out of stock. But since I work with the artisans directly I can always have her make one especially for you!

Interested in a custom designed poncho? Email me (Katy-creator and owner) at info@mariposaskies.com.

This open faced poncho also known as a ruana, is created in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Made with vegan silk and mohair wool blend guaranteed to keep you wrapped in warmth.

Work from Home Comfy Yet Chic Scarves

To upgrade your work from home wardrobe, adding a simple accessory like a scarf can take your outfit to the next level and make it oh so chic! Have you been sitting in a lot of zoom meetings? A scarf gives an extra sense of dimension to your outfit and makes it look dressed up without much effort! (Even if you got pajama pants on!) Hey no judgement here- I am right there with you! 😘

These vegan silk and mohair scarfs featured in our shop come in both an infinity or travel wrap scarf option.

These are also great options to use as a shawl or blanket while you’re sitting on the couch with your second cup of coffee starting that Netflix binge. Each scarf is completely unique and one of kind.

If you are stuck on how to style your infinity scarf, I made a "how to" video just for that. Click below to see 5 new ways to style your infinity scarves!

Work From Home Chic Yet Comfy Shawls

Another amazing staple to add to your chic work from home selection is our Cotton Shawls. These shawls are handwoven on a loom, are actually machine washable, and made of natural cotton that is dyed using things straight from mother nature herself – such as flowers, spices and plants. They are made in a small artisan town outside of Marrakech, Morocco called Tameslouht! These shawls can be used in a variety of way such as a scarfs, head covering, beach cover up/sarong, kimono, curl up blanket, picnic/beach blanket, towel, and even made into a large shoulder bag!

Even though we encourage you to make yourself stylish and comfy during this time we came up with a super fun #WFHFashion BINGO template - upload this on your Instagram stories and tag us! We want to see your fashion choices, even if they are more about comfort than anything else! (I  won't tell anyone, promise! 😉)
